Are you ready to Galvanize?

It’s hard to believe that we are less than a week away from the United State of Women Galvanize Ohio Summit! We are so excited to join hundreds of women from across the state of Ohio that are turning their passion into action by participating in the Galvanize Ohio Summit this weekend. The Galvanize Program is an outgrowth of passion and energy following The United State of Women Summit co-hosted with the Obama White House Council on Women and Girls in Washington, DC last year.

Following that national summit, women across the country expressed a hunger to continue learning, connecting, and engaging on these critical issues of gender equity in their own communities. The Galvanize Program was created as an answer to that call to mobilize, inspire, and empower women with the tools to lead in their local communities.

It will bring together advocates, organizers, elected officials, and business leaders to raise their voices on the critical issues affecting gender equity and share their vision for the future with close to 500 women ready to take action. Attendees will hear from a dynamic line-up of over 35 speakers representing communities from across the state and covering a wide-range of issues affecting women, including Tina Tchen, Former Chief of Staff to Michelle Obama, Executive Director of the White House Council on Women and Girls. Check out the full list of speakers here.

Summit attendees will also have the chance to receive in-depth, hands-on training from national organizations for their career focus. The Summit will include the following four tracks:

  • Running for Office – VoteRunLead

  • Grassroots Organizing – Midwest Academy

  • Leadership – Bossed Up

  • Entrepreneurship – BRAVA Investments

The Galvanize Summit is intended to spark change and create connections among the hundreds of attendees. And, the impact of the program won’t end at the conclusion the weekend. After the summit, attendees are invited to attend an Engagement Fair to connect and network with local organizations, non-profits, corporations, labor unions, and small businesses to turn their passion into action.

The Women’s Public Policy Network will be tabling at the Engagement Fair, so if you’re attending Galvanize this weekend, be sure to stop at our table and see how you can get involved with our efforts! Find out more about the Galvanize Ohio Summit and register online today.
